All applications for Hallam Nursery & School are made through Sheffield City Council. The process is straightforward, and you can apply online through the Sheffield Council website, or contact their admissions team if you'd prefer support.
Their website also has helpful guides for parents about choosing and applying for a school place.
What if my child has Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
You should still apply through the usual admissions process - unless they have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan.
If Hallam is named in your child's EHC plan, they will be offered a place.
We are an inclusive school and are committed to meeting the needs of every child.
What if I want to move my child from another school?
If your child is already attending another school, and you'd like them to move to Hallam, you can apply for an in-year transfer through Sheffield Council.
Families choose to move schools for many reasons, and we're here to support you through the process.
Appeals
Families who have not been allocated a place at Hallam may appeal the Local Authority decision. Families can access further information from the Admissions team at Sheffield City Council.
Appeals for in-year places are held all year round and should be heard within 30 days of the appeal being received by Sheffield City Council. Appeals for places in Foundation Stage 2 (Receptions) are generally held after the May Bank Holiday and will be heard within 40 days. Parents should receive at least 10 days notice from the Local Authority once and appeals hearing has been set. The council's criteria for appeals can be found here: Appeal your child's school place | Sheffield City Council
